It’s time! Josefin turned 9 weeks yesterday, 2 months post delivery, I need to get back into some kind of exercise. Remember my previous blog post, couple of weeks ago about a Buggy Fitness class for new moms? Well, I tried it out this morning! Nice class, great trainer and lovely ladies. I signed up for 12 classes!

Mountain Buggy Fitness is about “getting out there and being active” whilst still being with your little one. Like Olivia our lovely trainer puts it “Having a child doesn’t need to be a restriction to fitness and your well being”.

This morning class was held at Al Ittihad Park on Palm Jumeirah, from 8.30 to 9.30. Consisting of warm up, stretching to improve flexibility, cardiovascular and strength exercises, core and pelvic floor strengthening exercises. Olivia will assure that the training session fits your level and will take in consideration your post delivery condition. The program has been developed specifically for women who have had babies to regain their pre pregnancy body composition and fitness, with particular focus on strengthening the core, toning up the bum and thighs, improving strength and muscle tone on the shoulders and arms. It’s a gentle form of boot camp for new moms, but I did feel challenged at time and definitely happy afterward. It’s a fun class, with a good variety of exercises, running and recovery time.

Mountain Buggy Fitness Class is a great way to get back into shape, be outdoor, offer fresh air to the little ones and meet new friends. After one class, I realize how much I need to sign up for this! My cardio level need to improve, as well as my overall strength. I trust Olivia to help me get back into my pre pregnancy body fitness level. She specialize in post natal exercises and understand the effects that pregnancy hormones still have on the body. The right combination of cardiovascular exercises which increase the heart rate, burning off excess calories and body fat; and strength training by using your own body weight performing exercises such as squats, lunges, and press-ups which increase body tone and give you a high resting metabolism. And most importantly in a safe way, I will strengthen the core area which is weakened and stretched through pregnancy. That’s the plan!
